Not that anyone really cares one way or the other, but I am choosing to leave social networking sites. I read more when I’m not keeping up with status updates on the book of faces and the twits.
I don’t know how to make this stuff actually go away, and I don’t think it’s possible, really. Frankly, I can’t even navigate it enough to figure out how to delete my account. So my accounts will only be auto-feeding the blog posts and I will not be responding to “pokes” and the like.
Ah, sanity. It’s such a wonderful thing. Cherish it while it lasts, eh?

u no want goofy pictures I twit at you?
but really
Aguh! I’m reading RIGHT NOW, this really great novel titled vN. Ever heard of it? >:0 Reading…. cannot be tempted back onto twitter with funny photos of chocolate beer cheese fiestas!
no fair. you get to read an awesomesauce book, and i just wasted an hour screwing around on twitter.
on second though, there’s a Cory Doctorow book just sitting here, and I can goof off booking a face for a while, or I can face a book for a while. and not just any book, but a Doctorow. Yup, sounds like I know how I’m spending the rest of the evening!
Hahah! That’s the conclusion I came to. I realized I was spending about 2+ hrs/day on Tw/FB (*hives*). I really love the friends I’ve made through Twitter, and have made sure I have their contact info before I exited that system.
